Lutein and zeaxanthin are naturally occurring fat-soluble antioxidant carotenoids widely found in green leafy vegetables and various yellow to orange-colored fruits and flowers. Lutein is also found in significant quantities in the yolk of the egg, and in corn. One of the richest sources of lutein and zeaxanthin in nature is marigold flowers.
Lutein and zeaxanthin are termed as “Macular Pigments” as they are most prominent in the Lens and Macula regions of the eye and have been shown to play a prominent role in maintaining eye health. Lutein effectively controls free radical generation and the resulting
oxidation damage, through its ability to filter out blue wavelengths of light like ultraviolet rays, which causes damage to the skin and eyes.

Lutein & zeaxanthin are found in marigold flower petals and are chemically bound to various types of fatty acids. In these cases, it is said that lutein is esterified and is commonly known as lutein ester. Lutein Esters are derived from marigold flowers, which is a rich, safe and natural source for lutein. Production Process:
We take extreme care in growing and selecting marigold flower varieties, under a captive contract farming network, covering 5000 acres and 3000 progressive farmers to produce high quality lutein esters. A team of experienced and dedicated agro professionals monitor the process and restricts use of pesticides and herbicides to internationally accepted guidelines. The harvested flowers are then dehydrated to prevent further degradation of active ingredients.
The Lutein esters are derived from marigold oleoresin by selective precipitation and subsequent purification steps by re-crystallization, removing all other unwanted inactive materials like Waxes, Lipids, Triglycerides and purified to the extent of more than 95% and obtained in the form of pure crystals free from all impurities and any solvent residues.
The pure crystals are then formulated to desired concentrations ranging from 5% to 40% as “Lutein Esters,” Zeaxanthin 5% to 20% and Lutein with Zeaxanthin combinations, all in the form of powder, beadlets, and oil dispersions. All the ingredients used along with the active principles are food grade, vegetarian and are allowed by all pharmacopoeias as carriers. These bulk formulations can be easily converted into dosage forms like soft gels, capsules, and tablets.
Natural Lutein esters are available as powder, beadlets and oil in concentrations 5%, 10%, 15%, 20% and 40%. Our product is gelatin free and 100% vegetarian.

Packing
Natural Lutein Esters and Zeaxanthin in powder and beadlets are packed in 1Kg, 5Kg or 25Kg food grade aluminum bags, which are nitrogen flushed, heat sealed and then packed in a fiber drum.
Natural Lutein esters and Zeaxanthin in oil are packed in 1Kg, 5Kg or 25Kg food grade aluminum containers.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, away from heat and light. Keep sealed under nitrogen when not in use. In the case of oil, the product can settle down at the bottom of the container during storage. It is recommended that the product be stirred vigorously before removal from the container for use.

2 Years if stored under ideal storage conditions.
